AKO Wedding Photography
AKO, founded by Okai Tumse, captures weddings across England, Scotland and Wales — full-day photography, engagement sessions and vintage photo booths. The brand needed a site that felt cinematic and premium, not like a generic template, and that could take real bookings rather than just looking pretty.

Project Overview
AKO Wedding Photography needed a complete eCommerce solution for wedding photography services. Couples had to understand the offer quickly — full-day coverage, engagement sessions, bridal portraits and vintage photo booths — then send an enquiry or book a deposit without leaving the site.
We designed and built the live store at akoweddingphotography.co.uk as a Shopify experience: productised services, a photography enquiry form (service interest, names, date, venue and notes) and photo booth hire that can be added to cart, including a luxury photo booth deposit.
Challenge
Create an elegant online presence for a wedding photography business. The work had to feel like the photography itself — dark, cinematic, timeless — while still converting. Generic Shopify themes looked too “shoppy”. A brochure site without checkout would have blocked photo booth hire and deposits.
The brief also needed a simple path for photography inquiries: browse services, fill in the form, then a follow-up to discuss the day. That flow had to sit beside eCommerce, not compete with it.
Solution
Built a modern Shopify store with a booking system. Custom theme work in CSS3 and JavaScript shaped the hero, service cards, how-it-works steps, testimonials and contact form. Photography stays quote-led; photo booth hire is bookable with a clear starting price and deposit.
Content was structured around how couples actually decide: about the founder, UK-wide coverage, three core offers, a three-step enquiry process, social proof from real weddings, then get in touch. Navigation, search, account and cart are native Shopify so the store can grow without a rebuild.
Technology Stack
Shopify for catalogue, cart, deposits and storefront. JavaScript for slider, enquiry interactions and storefront behaviour. CSS3 for the dark, editorial look — typography, spacing and the cinematic overlays that match AKO’s photography.
Results
After launch, AKO saw a 300% increase in bookings and 150% revenue growth. Couples can now enquire and hire from one site, and the brand finally has an online presence that matches the work.
